The country is perfectly safe and you will not risk anything by walking in the cities of southern India. Unlike the North, here the atmosphere seems more relaxed, less apparent misery, the pressure of the crowd of beggars and other supplicants much easier to manage. Of course we must be vigilant as everywhere but go in peace! He reigns in the southern sky a certain sweetness of life, a certain nonchalance which certainly marks your stay.

India is a cheap destination. This is at least one destination where each scholarship finds happiness with a quality / price more attractive. You can make a meal of kingtalimilfor a few rupees.

The price of accommodation offer a level of comfort corresponding to European standards remain relatively high.

In South India, the climate is tropical with two different seasons : the dry season which runs from October to March. The weather is dry and the heat is very pleasant. The wet season is synonymous with monsoon from April to September. Sustained rainfall can be expected.

So when from South India?

The best time to visit the south of India is from October to March, which corresponds to the dry season. Leave mittens and hats to jump on a plane towards the sun and mild temperatures. From March temperatures get ho t: time reserved for those who worship the sun (you can always take refuge in the hills not to melt in the sun).

The monsoon starts in June on the west side and a second monsoon unfolds in Tamil Nadu between November and December.

No vaccinations are currently required for entry into India.

If you wish to be reassured, the most useful are those of hepatitis A and B, of DTAB, polio ... Check with your doctor. Preventive treatment against malaria can be really useful. In all cases, it is, again, best to consult your doctor who will prescribe the appropriate treatment. Disorders of the digestive tract are most common among tourists (turista, or diarrhea) may occur because the causes thermal shock between Europe and India, the fatigue of travel, but also to lack of practice a rich and spicy food. Do not deny yourself the pleasure of curries, but do not overeat! And if these problems occur, you will have taken care to ask your doctor before using medications such as ercéfuril, the imodium ... which will provide you up quickly. If you are ill, drink plenty, eat some (cooked rice, noodles, yogurt). Also note that we find everywhere pharmacies that have a wide choice of cheap drugs that can be obtained without a prescription. Take the formula of your regular medications, you will often find the local equivalent.

Some rules to make your life easier :

logo nandi  Foreigners are everywhere at ease and safe in India. The contact is always easy and people just waiting to help you.

logo nandi  Be kind to everyone, do not get upset or angry you are, whatever the circumstances. The Indians are naturally affable and generally cool (watch the behavior of drivers on the street, nobody gets upset, despite the congestion). However, do not attack courtesies cumbersome. No one will understand you to say thank you or forgive every ten words, as we tend to do well among people high in France.

logo nandi  Restraint, in attitudes as clothing. The skirts are too short shorts or women are frowned upon. The men's shorts are not appreciated. Make an effort to visit the temples. It does not really warmer light trousers.

logo nandi  The working classes, we eat without cutlery, with the right hand. Observe how people are doing and do the same. Wash your hands to wash-basin before and after the meal.

logo nandi  To say hello, we do not shake hands than in urban areas who attend Western, otherwise we join both hands at chest level and they say "namaskar". Are discussed before the meal. The meal itself was quickly shipped and it is polite to leave soon after. You will rarely, if ever, the hostess at the table. At best, it will greet you on arrival and departure, but no woman of the house will not share your meal: it is the prerogative of men.
